Cheektowaga (WKBW) - A violent home invasion in Cheektowaga leaves one man dead and police searching for clues as to what really happened.
Police were called early Sunday morning to a home on West Grand Boulevard in Cheektowaga with reports of a home invasion and shooting.
"Officers arrived on location and found a male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound," Captain Michael Isbrandt of the Cheektowaga Police Detectives Bureau said.
Police identified the victim as 37 year old Armod Law, who was pronounced dead at the scene. As police continue to investigate the case, family members are dealing with a lost loved one.
"He was a nice person, he was outgoing, he took care of his kids. I don't think anyone who had any dislikes about him," family member Latasha Gray said.
Family members say Law ran Rashad's Liquor Store on Broadway in Buffalo. Sunday morning the store was closed, but friends came to pay their respects, and left a stuffed bear in his memory.
"He was good to the neighborhood. Everybody knew him on Broadway. He always treated people nice. Anytime anybody asked him for anything he was there for them, never done wrong to anyone that I know of," Warren Mobley, a friend of Law's, said Sunday.
The death is now stirring up an otherwise quiet neighborhood in Cheektowaga.
"You never expect anything like that. Everybody gets along, there are only four or five houses on the block. The neighborhood has really started to turn over a little bit," neighbor Irv Harell said.
Police are still looking for a motive and suspects. Anyone with any information is asked to call Cheektowaga Police at 686-3510.
