Dead Federal Retirees Paid Big Bucks, Report Says

A report by the Office of Personnel Management's inspector general shows it has paid out more than $600 million in benefits to deceased federal employees over the past five years, according to a Washington Post story.

The annual payouts range between $100 and $150 million, according to the Post report, which also says that the improper payments had increased by 70 percent over the last five years.
