BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) Did you know that more teenagers are using marijuana now than ten years ago?
That could be because some teenagers are experimenting with "synthetic" drugs that could have even worse side effects.
Dr. Raul Vazquez visited Channel 7's "Eyewitness News This Morning" Tuesday with important information for parents.
Dr. V reports that nearly one in nine high school seniors have gotten high in the past year on synthetic drugs, such as "K2" or "Spice," second only to the number of teens who have used marijuana, according to a new survey.
In 1991 marijuana use was at 13.8% percent. That number has now jumped to 22% percent.
In addition, Vazquez reports that these synthetic drugs can have adverse side effects.
