DARIEN CENTER, NY ( WKBW ) Recent concerts at a local amusement theme park drew tens of thousands of people to Darien Center, New York.

However, many of those concert goers will be back in less than a month for a less enjoyable experience at Darien Town Court.

Genesee County Sheriff Chief Deputy Gordon Dibble told Eyewitness News, "Three concerts in a row this (past) Friday, Saturday, and Sunday...we did have a busy three days. This happens from time to time when we get the concerts on top of each other."

When that does happen, it makes for long days for law enforcement. Each concert has the potential to bring in 20,000 people, and some of them end up on the wrong side of the law.

Sheriff Dibble continued, "I think we made something like 35 arrests. We had something like 95 underage drinking citations issued. We made a number of DWI arrests and the State Police were also active making DWI arrests."

The State Police made eight DWI arrests, nine criminal drug arrests, and issued seventy six tickets.

A representative of the Darien Lake Theme Park Resort, that hosted the concerts, says that the resort appreciates and supports the Genesee County Sheriffs in their enforcement of the laws against drinking and driving.
