Getzville, NY (WKBW) - A Mother's Day crash in Amherst sent several victims to area hospitals.

The crash happened on Campbell Road in Getzville around 4:30 on Sunday afternoon.

Police say a drunk driver turned into the path of a Jeep, causing it to rollover off the road, and into some nearby trees.

Police say the Jeep was headed north on Campbell Road, when the Toyota, driven by 36-year-old Andrey Tsur-Tsar of Amherst, made a left hand turn and hit the Jeep.

Five people were inside the vehicle that rolled over. Two adults were taken to Erie County Medical Center. Two teenagers were sent to Women and Children's Hospital.

Emergency responders say two occupants were trapped inside and had to be extracated.

Chief Bob Zacher, with the Getzville Fire Company, says "We had the jaws of life at the ready but in the end we were able to remove them just by removing some of the windows and the seat backs, lowering the seats so we could remove the patients."

The names and conditions of the four victims have not been released.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

Tsur-Tsar was charged with Driving While Intoxicated along with other traffic violations. He was transported back to the Amherst Police Department, where officers say he refused a breath test.
