BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Black Friday and Small Business Saturday are now a thing of the past for this year. Monday, a lot of people are taking advantage of online shopping deals, on the day known as Cyber Monday.

This year could set a record.

It has already been a big long weekend of sales -- the National Retail Federation reporting a record $59.1 billion spent at US stores and websites.

That number is only expected to grow.

The research firm comScore, Inc. predicts that shoppers will spend more than $1.5 billion on Cyber Monday this year. That number is a 20-percent increase from last year.

This has been a big year for online sales. Even on Thanksgiving Day, Americans spent $633-million on the web.

Online Black Friday sales were up 26-percent from last year.
