BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Some local leaders are asking Governor Cuomo not to delay tax credit checks for middle class New Yorkers.
The law that passed last year in Albany will allow more than one million families making between $40,000 and $350,000 with at least one child under the age of 18, a tax credit check of $350 a family.
However, those checks are not going out until this fall, one month before election day
Senator Stephen Hawley says this is simply a re-election ploy.
Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy says the Governor does not need gimmicks to be re-elected.
