WEST SENECA, NY ( NYSP release) The New York State Police, Buffalo Thruway Station, investigated a personal injury tractor trailer accident on the I-90 east in the Town of West Seneca.
At 11:00 am, the Thruway Statewide Operations Center was advised of a jack-knifed tractor trailer blocking the left lanes of the Thruway. The tractor cab became disconnect from the frame and was leaning against the center concrete barrier.
The driver, BRYNCENT STEVENSON, age 28 of Las Vegas NV, suffered minor arm and neck injuries. The trailer was empty and no other vehicles were involved. Thruway maintenance and State Police patrols from Troop T and Troop A closed the left lanes on both the east and west bound sides of the Thruway to allow Rusiniak’s Heavy Tow service to upright the tractor and remove both the tractor and trailer.
All westbound lanes were opened at 1:30 pm, all eastbound lanes were opened at 2:20 pm. The lane closures did cause minimal delays on both sides of the Thruway.
The State Police were assisted on the scene by Rural Metro Ambulance.
The cause of the accident was determined to be unsafe speed for conditions (weather).
