AMHERST, NY (WKBW)- According to the latest polls, the race for the 26th Congressional Seat is extremely tight as voters head to their polling places Tuesday. A poll by 'Public Policy Polling' Sunday shows Democrat Kathy Hochul leading Republican Jane Corwin. 42% of voters say they'll support Hochul, while 36% plan to vote for Corwin. Third Party Candidate Jack Davis is showing 13% of the voters. Even though Corwin is trailing Hochul, Corwin says she's remaining confident.

"It's up to the voters tomorrow," said Corwin. "I don't look at polls, just base myself on what I hear from people in the community and it's all been positive. I feel very good about it."

Corwin spent much of Monday talking with residents within the district. This morning, she spoke with seniors at the Amherst Senior Center focusing mainly on Medicare. Corwin says she supports the program and would like to see Medicare around for seniors now and in the future.
