Orchard Park, N.Y. (WKBW) - The NFL ownership has agreed to the terms of a ten-year lease for the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium. One of the terms of the agreement is that $130 million will go to renovating of Ralph Wilson Stadium.
These improvements include more covered entrances with video monitors, improved bathrooms, a larger concourse and more concession stands. The Bills organization said it is another step in the process toward finalizing the agreement and beginning the process of improvements this year.
"The Bills, as many people talk about, are not only the heart and soul of Western NY, they are also a key economic driver of what happens here not only in Erie County but in the bi-national region that is the United States and Canada, and I know that will continue for many years to come," Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said.
At this point, the lease still needs to be signed by the Erie County Legislature and New York State Legislature. In the meantime, an information meeting will be held by the County's Economic Development Committee. It will be held on the fourth floor of the old County Hall in Downtown Buffalo. They will be discussing this lease agreement and other items pertaining to it.
