Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW) – Two young boys were shot on Fennimore Avenue in Buffalo. This violent crime was the catalyst for residents to step up and make a change.

Dozens of people gathered at an anti-violence rally, Thursday night. Members of groups including Mad Dads, FATHERS and Stop the Violence Coalition joined those residents. They said they saddened and outraged with the shooting of two boys.

One boy was three year old and shot in the arm. He is recovering in the hospital. The other victim was a 14-year-old boy. He is also recovering at Women and Children’s Hospital from three gunshot wounds.

“It's bad. You can even let your kids go outside without someone trying to jump on them or cause harm to them,” mother Christine Thompson said.

Authorities said the drive-by shots were intended for the 14year-old boy. This three year old was caught in the line of fire while riding his tricycle in his grandfather’s yard.

The parents in this neighborhood said they fear for their children’s safety every time they walk out the door.
