BUFFALO, NY—( release) Common Council President David A. Franczyk announced the Common Council’s schedule of Budget Hearings on the Mayor’s Proposed City Budget for the Fiscal Year 2011-2012.
The hearings will be conducted during the period of May 2 through May 5, 2011 and will be held in the Council Chambers located on the 13th floor of City Hall.
The Budget Hearings are a very important aspect of the budgetary process that the Common Council uses to provide Council Members and residents with a public forum to review and comment on presentations by City departments and allied agencies relating to their ability to:
· Operate within the scope of the Mayor’s Recommended Budget for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012;
· Implement the initiatives in the Common Council’s 2011-2012 Annual Action Plan;
· Comply with City Charter and Code mandated duties and responsibilities; and
· Attain the goals and objectives of their respective department or agency.
