BUFFALO (WKBW) If you are single in Buffalo, but are tired of the coffee meet-ups, the blind dates, and the bar scene, a new startup might have the solution for you. It benefits a good cause here locally, and you might even find love.

It is called Date on Purpose, a charity dating auction with a twist. And it is the brainchild of entrepreneur Frank Gullo.

"Live event bachelor, bachelorette auctions exist all the time, we have them here. What we're doing that's different is we've added an online component. So people can get online and bid for some of Buffalo's most eligible singles," Gullo said.

Have the top bid, and win a date, with the money going to help fund the brand new John Oishei Childrens Hospital being built on Buffalo's medical campus.

"It's the future of wellbeing and health and lives of women and children and their families in Western New York and beyond, so in my mind it doesn't get any more important than that," spokesman for Women & Children's Hospital John Moscato said.

And if you look closely online, you will see a familiar face up for bid. Channel 7's own Jason Gruenauer will be auctioned off during Date on Purpose's live kickoff event, this Friday from the Hotel Lafayette.

For more information, or to bid on bachelors or bachelorettes, head to http://www.dateonpurpose.com/. Tickets (with proceeds going to Children's Hospital) are available at http://dateonpurpose.eventbrite.com/
