JAMESTOWN (WKBW) Sixteen members of the Jamestown High School winter color guard team are on their way to Dayton, Ohio for the WGI Color Guard World Championships.

Called the "Jamestown Express," the team is ranked as the top in the nation for its division.

Jamestown High School re-started the school's color guard program in 2001.

Since then, the program has continue to grow with close to 80 students now taking part.

Hundreds of color guard units from across the country, including some international teams, will take part in the Dayton championships.

The competition is the conclusion to the current winter color guard season and will take place on April 11-12.

Parents, teachers, and County Executive Greg Edwards were on hand to see the students off.
