Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- The City of Buffalo on Tuesday issued a pair of Thanksgiving Week reminders for residents.

1. City Residents are reminded that there will be regular garbage and recycling pick-up on Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) and Friday.  There will be no changes to the collection.  City collection routes begin at 7:00 a.m.

2. With a record crowd expected at this year’s annual Turkey Trot in Buffalo, City Officials and the Buffalo Police Department recommend that participants and spectators arrive early to get a good parking spot.  Police remind motorists not to park in front of driveways, fire hydrants or crosswalks, or they could be ticketed or towed.

Buffalo police also advise people attending the race to make sure their car doors are locked, and to keep all valuables out of sight, including GPS Systems, purses, cash and other personal belongings.  You are advised to store these items in your trunk, or other secure areas before arriving at the race.
