BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - City of Buffalo Officials unveiled new equipment this year to tackle whatever mother nature throws our way this Winter. $1.1 million in new snow fighting equipment will be added to the city's fleet. The new equipment consists of 5 new plows and 3 highlifts. In addition, the city has refurbished a 1998 small wing plow to allow easier access to small streets and roads within the city.

"Streets vary within the city and you need different equipment to get down those streets," said Buffalo Public Works Commissioner Steve Stepniak. "It helps us become more diversified."

The new equipment increases the city's total winter fleet to 72 pieces, with a total of 56 truck plows and 16 highlift plows.
