Cheektowaga Holds Public Hearing On Proposed Law Change

Town of Cheektowaga (WKBW) -- Residents of Cheektowaga got a chance to voice their opinions Monday night. The town board is looking to change a law that currently bans dogs in all of the town's parks. The Town of Cheektowaga held a public hearing on the new law that would allow dogs in 15 of the towns 17 parks. The town currently allows dogs to be walked on two trail and around two dozen people spoke on both sides of the issue.

Some dog owners are upset that the Town Park and Stiglmeier Park are not on the list A resident who began the push to change the law...refused to attend the hearing. His wife read a letter he wrote protesting the part of the law that does not allow dogs in all town parks. Board members will now decided whether or not to make any changes to the new proposal. A vote is expected within the next few weeks.
