BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (PBA) is reminding drivers that they can get updated traffic information about the international bridge crossings with the push of a button.
Mobile.peacebridge.com is a mobile service formatted for web-enabled cell phones that provides daily commuters with a convenient way to check border wait times while on the go.
“The mobile.peacebridge.com smart phone feature has quickly established a very strong and consistent user-base here in the Niagara region,” said PBA Chairman Ken Schoetz. “On average, we see between 4,000-7,000 individual motorists visiting the site every month, including a significant chunk of commuters who rely on the service throughout the entire work week.”
The sees large increases in use during Buffalo sporting events and concerts and trade shows, and will be extremely useful during the holiday shopping season.
“The service is a definite benefit to those travelers crossing the Peace Bridge for hockey games or for those heading north to Niagara Falls for special events,” said PBA Vice Chairman Anthony Annunziata. “Our numbers continue to show a large uptick in use – to the tune of several hundred additional visitors – before and after these types of gatherings.”
Motorists are reminded to check the service prior to trip departure and to refrain from browsing the site while driving, for general safety purposes.
