CentriLogic, which operates a Buffalo data center, has acquired Canadian managed hosting and IT services provider The Capris Group for $9 million.

The Capris Group, founded in 1996, will combine with CentriLogic's existing data centers to create a business unit that focuses on application and platform management services to new and current customers. CentriLogic also will add additional data center and disaster recovery space to its existing infrastructure in the Greater Toronto Area.

The Capris Group has about 25 full-time employees. A CentriLogic spokeswoman said there are no plans to make any staff changes and if anything, may add staff in the coming months.

CentriLogic's Buffalo data center, located in Main Place Tower, employs 16. The company has data centers throughout New York and Canada, as well as two newer ones in London and Hong Kong. The tech company have been aggressively marketing its co-location and cloud services for the Buffalo data center.

CentriLogic said it will maintain The Capris Group's 15,000-square foot data center and disaster recovery area in Mississauga, Ont.
