Catholic Health Enforcing Temporary Visitor Restrictions

January 16, 2013 Updated Jan 16, 2013 at 2:27 PM EDT

In the midst of a terrible flu season, Catholic Health is limiting visitors to individual’s ages 14 and older.

The restriction's effective immediately and is an effort aiming to reduce flu risks for both patients and visitors.

The visitor age restriction is being implemented at all Catholic Health hospitals and long term care facilities including:

Mercy Hospital in Buffalo
Kenmore Mercy
Sisters of Charity Hospital
Father Baker Manor
McAuley Residence
Mercy Skilled Nursing Facility at OLV
St. Catherine Laboure
St. Francis of Williamsville.

Restrictions are also being enforced at the neonatal intensive care units and maternal-child areas at Sisters and Mercy Hospital.

The visitor age limit will remain in effect until Catholic Health clinical professionals determine they are no longer needed.

In addition, Catholic Health is installing more hand sanitizer dispensers throughout all facilities.
