Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- The 2011 Appeal in support of Catholic Charities of Buffalo has topped $10 million, with less than $500,000 needed to achieve its goal of $10.5 million, the organization announced Wednesday.
With about four weeks left until the end of Catholic Charities’ fiscal year on June 30, an additional $476,057.32 is needed in cash and pledges to reach the goal.
“Ten million dollars is a significant milestone for this campaign, and one we are grateful to be able to reach at this time,” said Sister Mary McCarrick, OSF, diocesan director for Catholic Charities. “The dedicated efforts of our volunteers and generous donors have helped us move closer and closer to our goal and we could not be more thankful. They are truly making a positive impact to the lives of those we serve.”
Greg Maher, 2011 Appeal Chair, also remarked on the generosity of the donors as the total continues to climb.
“With just weeks left in this Appeal season, I continue to be amazed by the kindness and giving spirit of this community despite the economic challenges we face. I am inspired by the support we have received as we continue to strive to meet our goal.”
Donations to the Appeal can be made through Diocese of Buffalo parishes or directly to Catholic Charities. Donations and pledges are accepted at Catholic Charities headquarters at 741 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo; by calling 218-1400 or via its secure website at www.ccwny.org.
