Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW)-The theme is "Creativity and Innovation" and it focuses on Western New York Businesswomen.

"You get the opportunity to receive educational knowledge, critical skill and tools to be successful," Executive Director Canisius Business School Melinda Rath Sanderson said.

It's the 2011 Canisius College Women's Leadership Conference.

Ralfa Musialowski works for the NFTA and attended the conference.

"It just gives us an opportunity to get difference perspective on how to business in this area," Musialowski said.

The college offered more than 80 vendors selling various products and service. They also provide keynote speakers that that give the women some good advice and encouragement.

"I think it's important because there are so many more women in business now and to have our own group of people that you can contact and call. It's a very nice motivational tool," Musialowski said.

Canisius officials said lessons learned here, not only help women in business but also benefit the Western New York economy.

"The numbers are staggering when you think about where women's place is in the future of the economy," Sanderson said.

Dean of the Business College Joe Alber agrees.

"We are doing this because we are promoting economic development in Western New York," Alber said.

More than 400 people attended the conference, which is held every other year.
