Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced Wednesday that Eric Kaczor, 28, of Caneadea, N.Y., who was convicted of being a felon in possession of firearms, was sentenced to 33 months in prison and three years supervised released by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Catherine Baumgarten, who handled the case, stated that on September 20, 2010, Kaczor used a Dremel tool, a type of drill, to obliterate the serial numbers from two rifles, a .22 caliber rifle and a .223 caliber rifle, for other individuals. The firearms and ammunition were seized by law enforcement officers during the execution of a search warrant.

In April, 2012, Joseph Clayton pleaded guilty to transferring a firearm to a prior felon. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
