Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - Candace Cartagena will return to the Erie County Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon.
Jduge Franczyk will sentence Cartagena, one month after he found her guilty of murdering her daughter, eight-year-old Bianca.
Cartagena was convicted of suffocating her daughter in an Amherst home in November of 2010. Prosecutors claimed Cartagena acted out in a "jealous rage" after Bianca chose to spend Thanksgiving with her father.
While issuing a verdict in late July, Judge Franczyk called Cartagena "self-absorbed" and "emotionally unstable."
Cartagena will be sentenced by Judge Franczyk at two in the afternoon on Tuesday. We will have the latest on Eyewitness News at 5 and 6.
