Williamsville, NY (WKBW) It was a day for girls to truly have fun, one that would even make Cyndi Lauper happy. Camp Good Days put on it's annual spa day for young girls battling cancer and their mothers.

Lisa Donato of Camp Good Days called the event a "special time" for both the girls and their mothers.

"They're here to forget about their treatment, and their disease, and kind of get away for a day," she said.

Some of those suffering from cancer took the day to be normal girls.

"We're stuck in a place for a long time, so it's nice to be able to get out, spend time together, and have fun," Mariah said.

"It's what people with cancer and other sicknesses deserve," Siophan added.

The girls were treated to haircuts, manicures, pedicures, and make-up. It was a day only to focus on being pampered and just being girls, with both parents and daughters benefiting.

"It's just a really nice day to just spend the day with (my daughter) and after what she's been going through it's been a nice treat," parent Michelle Moore said.

And though the makeup will eventually wash off and the nail polish chip away after a few weeks, it's the memories that will last a lifetime.

"We'll remember this forever. The bad stuff we will try to forget, but these are the good things we try to remember," parent Mary Gonyea said.
