AMHERST, NY (WKBW/Release) - TRAVELER ADVISORY - The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) today announced that highway construction will continue on NY Route 270, Campbell Boulevard, in the town of Amherst, Erie County. As a result, beginning on Wednesday, August 29th, NY Route 270 will be subject to lane closures between Tonawanda Creek Road and North French Road from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Traffic will be alternating use of one open lane, which will be controlled by flaggers. This work is expected to last approximately two weeks.
Motorists should expect delays and should seek alternate routes.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
