Gas Leak Shuts Down Buffalo Bank

BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) A bank at Elmwood Avenue at Utica Streets in the city is closed Tuesday after an apparent leak cause employees to suffer from CO poisoning.

Channel 7's Ed Reilly was on the scene first, and talked with Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield on how first responders are helping the people there.

Even though several people showed signs of sickness as the result of an apparent CO leak, as of this posting nobody was taken to a hospital.

The Bank Of America issued this statement:
There was a small gas leak in the 495 Elmwood Avenue banking center, which caused two of our associates to become ill. Both were treated and released at the scene. At this point, it appears that no customers or other associates were affected. The cause of the leak is being investigated by property management, and the banking center will remain closed for the time being.
