Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- Camp Broadway, a one-week summer theatre camp for area youth, will be held July 18-22 at Shea’s Performing Arts Center

Now in its eleventh year at Shea’s, Camp Broadway is for children and teens (ages 10 to 17) who have an interest in musical theatre.

Acceptance is limited to 100 students to ensure that the classes are intimate and all children receive personal attention. The five-day program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Camp Broadway’s summer program includes instruction in voice, acting, dance, movement and solo and ensemble singing while learning and rehearsing dialogue, musical numbers and dance routines for a featured Broadway musical of the week. The program also includes the “Gypsy Showcase,” a theatrical endeavor that requires the campers to work together as a team to create an original theatrical piece that showcases their creativity and individual talents.

The weeklong program culminates July 22 in the “Family Finale,” a final presentation for family and friends.
