Buffalo, NY – A fast moving vacant house fire on the city’s lower west side has left six people without a home after the flames spread to their occupied home.
Buffalo Fire Department was called out to 276 Busti Avenue just before midnight late Saturday evening. Crews arriving on scene found heavy fire coming from the 2 1/2-story vacant house’s second floor.

The fire spread to an occupied home right next door at 274 Busti Avenue.
American Red Cross spokesperson Jay Bonafede tells Eyewitness News the agency is helping six people Sunday morning.
One person was taken to a local hospital from the scene according to Rural Metro Medical Services. The reason and their condition are still unknown.
The occupied home sustained $30,000 damage to the structure and $15,000 to the contents. Damage to the vacant house’s structure is estimated to be $40,000. There was nothing inside.
The fire is currently under investigation by Buffalo Fire’s Arson Investigation Unit.
