BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- An NFTA Metrobus driver pounded on doors and screamed outside a South Park Avenue home Monday morning and woke up nine people who were unaware that their house was on fire.

Richard Lucas just started his morning route when he saw smoke and fire coming from the two-unit apartment house.

Two families, a total of nine people, made it out okay.

The home suffered major damage. One family's dog was killed in the fire.
