BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The family of Jamey Rodemeyer, who took his own life after being bullied in school, says the bullies are now targeting their daughter.

"It was the first day of his wake and my daughter, we let her go to a dance because it was Homecoming Week that Jamey was really looking forward to," Jamey's mother Tracey told NBC's Today Show.

"And we thought it would be great for her to be with all her friends. And she was texting that she was having a great time. Then all of a sudden a Lady Gaga song came on and they all started chanting for Jamey and all his friends," she said.

That is when things turned ugly, according to the family.

"Then the bullies that put him in this situation started chanting 'You're Better Off Dead! We're Glad You're Dead,'" said Tracey.

Jamey's sister told a similar story to CNN's Anderson Cooper Tuesday night.

Amherst Police are investigating the incident.
