Buffalo, NY (WKBW) Buffalo Common Council president, David A. Franczyk, is sick of hearing loud, thumping music coming from, what he calls, "monster car stereo systems".
"Babies wake up crying, senior citizens wake up out of their slumber who maybe having health issues. People are disturbed, people are deeply upset and they feel powerless to do anything about it.", says Franczyk. Under the city charter excessive noise is already illegal and bass bumping cars are frequently ticketed in the Queen City. Franczyk has drafted a resolution that he will present to the Common Council at their next meeting that would give police the power to not only ticket people with loud car sound systems but also the power to seize and impound the equipment as well. John Ceko, who owns Main Auto Sound in Buffalo, doesn't think this proposed law is feasible or legal, ""It goes against your liberties and on top of that I don't see how they would be able to remove these from a car without damaging the car or if they have the right knowledge to even do something like that."
