Even the nonprofits are getting in on the Black Friday deals.
With membership rates set to increase by $1 after Jan. 1 at the Buffalo Museum of Science, the museum is offering a special deal for community members on Fri., Nov. 29.
The Black Friday Membership Special includes a choice of $15 off or four extra months for a new or renewed family or grandparent membership. The rates are usually $60 or $55, respectively. Gift memberships will also be available at the discounted rates.
Beginning in January, general museum admission will increase to $10 for adults; $9 for seniors 62 and older; and $8 for children, students and military personnel with ID. Children under two will remain free.
Basic membership levels will see a $5 increase on January 1, with family membership increasing to $65. In addition to the Buffalo Museum of Science, members receive free or discounted admission to over 350 science museums around the world through the Association for Science and Technology Centers Passport Program.
Opened in 1929, the nonprofit museum includes the main facility off Humboldt Parkway; as well as the Tifft Nature Preserve in South Buffalo, a 264-acre urban wetland preserve.
