Buffalo, NY (WKBW)- Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda announced the arrest of 24-year-old Cornell Virgil-Mack. Following a raid Monday at his West Avenue home, police seized 3 handguns, 2 loaded machine guns, half a pound of marijuana, and $1,200 in cash. Police believe Virgil-Mack was dealing marijuana out of his home and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon and felony possession of marijuana.
"We do our best to take people like this out of the neighborhood," said Police Commissioner Derenda. "It's also a quality of life issue. If he was selling marijuana out of here, and you had to live next to this house day in and day out, it's like a supermarket."
Buffalo Police officials have also had discussions with the US Attorney's Office about the possibility of bringing federal charges against Virgil-Mack.
