BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - A West Seneca man accused of shooting a Buffalo Police Officer in the leg will be facing charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say the man is in his early 20's.
An officer was shot at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon near Eldon Road and Eggert Road.
Police say they were in pursuit of a man with a gun, when at some point the suspect discharged his weapon striking the officer in the leg area.
The suspect is in police custody and police say they believe they've recovered the weapon. The officer was transported to ECMC with non-life threatening injuries.
