(WKBW release) Buffalo police said Wednesday that a 15-year-old boy is in custody following a police pursuit that ended just after noon near Manhattan Avenue and Shawnee Avenue.

According to a news release:

Officers responded to the call of a suspicious vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the Main Street-Depew Avenue area.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle in that area, but after initially pulling over, the driver sped off. At one point, the vehicle clipped a church van near Bennett Village Terrace, injuring the van driver. He was taken to ECMC with unknown injuries at this time.

The pursuit ended at Manhattan and Shawnee when the vehicle crashed into a police car. A male officer suffered multiple injuries. He was taken to ECMC where he's listed in stable condition.

Charges are pending against the suspect.

Police believe the vehicle was stolen Tuesday afternoon and may've been used in at least one felony crime.
