BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Buffalo police are still investigating the homicide that happened Wednesday around 3:30pm. Officers are searching for Wyatt Hayes, known as "Chicago" who has addresses on Stevens Street on Buffalo's East side.

Police say that 26 year-old Darryl McDavis, of Buffalo, had become engaged in a heated argument with two other men, when he was shot at close range.

Homicide detectives want to question Hayes, who fled the scene wearing a white undershirt, burgundy colored baseball cap, white and grey sneakers and shorts.

Responding officers found McDavis' body at the scene.

"The victim was found on a doorstep of the building on the northwest corner," according to Dennis J. Richards, chief of detectives.

"Anyone knowing Hayes' whereabouts should contact 911 immediately," Richards said.

Anyone with information about this homicide can call the police department's confidential TIPCALL number 847-2255 or text a tip to 716-847-2255.
