Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown announced Monday that city surveillance cameras and private cameras, as well several key tips, led to the arrest of a 20-year-old Buffalo man in connection with a shooting death that occurred early March 2 outside Pandora's Sports Bar on Fillmore Avenue.
Taire M. Chaney, of Buffalo, was arrested and charged with second degree murder. Chaney was already being held at Erie County Holding Center on a previous gun charge when homicide detectives arrested and charged him in connection with the homicide.
“Once again, the surveillance camera system led to an arrest, making a difference as a crime fighting tool,” Brown said in a news release. “Since 2006, my administration has added 125 surveillance cameras to the city with 25 more on the way. It is my goal to use everything at our disposal to put away perpetrators of crime.”
