Buffalo (WKBW) Buffalo native and actor William Fichtner became the first member of the "Walk of Fame Trail of the Stars" on Main Street Downtown. Fichtner has held roles in television, voices for video games, and is most well known for his feature film roles in movies such as "the Dark Knight," "Black Hawk Down," "Armageddon," and "crash."

"Forget about Hollywood, we're in Buffalo tonight. We're on Main St. in Buffalo. Right in front of Shea's. I'm not thinking about Hollywood tonight, i'm thinking about being home," Fichtner said.

The event, which featured Fichtner putting his handprints and autograph in cement, was all part of the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival, which runs all weekend from the Market Arcade Theatre.

"Tonight to come here, and so many family members came out and so many friends, and to be here tonight, I don't think there's anything better," Fichtner said.

He even gave a shout out to a Channel Seven legend.

"My favorite news personality? There's only one. Irv Weinstein. Do you know where your children are?"

Just around the corner at the Adam's Mark Hotel, the 85th Anniversary Gala for Shea's Theatre took place.

"It's our largest fundraiser of the year for the theatre, specifically for the restoration projects for the theatre," Shea's President Tony Conte said.

Guests were then taken to Shea's, where they walked the red carpet to see "The Rat Pack is Back."

"A lot of good things are going on in Buffalo. It's great to see the amount of activity we have going on in Buffalo, not just in the theatre scene but in the sports and everything else, it's just phenomenal," Conte said.

And with stars on the screen, on the stage, and in person, Buffalo gave Tinseltown a run for its money on Saturday.
