BUFFALO, N.Y (WKBW) According to officials from the Seneca Gaming Corporation, the new Buffalo Creek Casino is several weeks ahead of schedule.

"We are probably about 80% done," said Jim Wise, senior vice-president of marketing.

Construction workers are now doing finishing work inside the casino with plans to have a "soft opening" by the end of the summer.

"Where we quietly bring the games in and start to get operations up and running," added Jim Wise.

The new casino will have over 800 slot machines and 20 table games.

About half of the slot machines will be brand new, the other 50% will be moved from the current temporary "blue" casino that has been in operation for several years.

Plans call for having a grand-opening about 2 to 3 weeks after the soft opening - to give crews time to move the slot machines from the old casino into the new building.

Officials said it will take about three months for construction crews to remove the temporary casino.

The $130-million dollar project created 600 construction jobs and will create 500 additional jobs when the Buffalo Creek Casino opens.
