Buffalo Brewery District Targets French Market

February 21, 2013 Updated Feb 21, 2013 at 2:12 PM EDT

The Buffalo Brewery District properties, Pearl Street Grill & Brewery, Pan American Grill & Brewery, Hotel @The Lafayette, Lofts on Pearl and Sportsmen’s Tavern, are pleased to announce a new collaborative marketing partnership with Tourisme Franco-Niagara to reach out to Francophone markets in Quebec, Ontario, and France.

Since 2002, Tourisme Franco-Niagara has been focused on attracting the Francophone market from Quebec and France to the Niagara Region to experience the year-round tourism products and services and fill the gap left with fewer Americans crossing the border. Because Canada is a bilingual country, and Niagara Region is home to Welland, the third-largest French-speaking community in the province of Ontario, reaching out to this market was natural, and tourism partners in Niagara have successfully built this market over the past decade to one of its most significant customer segments.

“Visitors from Quebec are cosmopolitan, year-round travelers, enjoy all seasons and weather conditions, have passports, speak French and English, enjoy culinary, cultural, outdoor and boutique experiences, and are repeat visitors to Niagara. What better audience to invite to expand their experience to include the amenities of Western New York and provide them with a unique opportunity for a two-nation vacation?” advised Arlene White, Executive Director of the Binational Alliance, and Business Development and Sales Consultant to the Buffalo Brewery District.

The Buffalo Brewery District worked with the Binational Alliance and staff of Tourisme Franco-Niagara to adapt their hotel, restaurant, brewery and entertainment promotional materials specifically for the French-speaking market. They are the first Western New York properties to be promoted in “Les Saisons” magazine, on the “Bonjour Niagara” website, and to participate in the Montreal Cycling Show, one of Montreal’s largest and most popular annual consumer travel shows, where 1500 French promotional flyers were distributed to the attendees this past weekend.

“Our unique cultural venues, food, craft beer, and boutique hotels are a perfect fit for the Quebec market and we welcome the opportunity to work with new partners to bring them to downtown Buffalo and Western New York” said Bill Casale, General Manager of Pearl Street Grill & Brewery. “This is just the first of many new initiatives we are rolling out with the Binational Alliance in 2013.”

Copies of “Les Saisons” are available at Hotel@Lafayette and Lofts on Pearl. For more information about this new initiative, contact Arlene White at 905.401.4450 or arlene.white@btapartners.com, or visit buffalobrewerydistrict.com and bonjourniagara.com.
