Brooklyn Man Arrested for Bringing Heroin into Attica Correctional Facility

WARSAW, NY (release) - On January 28, 2012 New York State Police, Warsaw, NY arrested Khalid Amir Thurmond age 27, of Brooklyn, NY for criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband.

Thurmond was arrested pursuant to being found smuggling approximately 3.2 grams of heroin secreted on his person when attempting an inmate visit at Attica Correctional Facility, Attica, NY by members of NYSDOCCS - Inspector General's Office.

Thurmond was processed at SP Warsaw, then arraigned in Town of Attica Court by Town Justice Dale Robinson who remanded him to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $8,000 bail.

Thurmond is due back in court on February 23, 2012.
