CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, NY ( release from District Attorney ) Chautauqua County District Attorney David W. Foley has announced that Corey Kimmy, age 22, of Brocton, NY was indicted by a Chautauqua County Grand Jury on one count of Attempted Kidnapping in the Second Degree, and one count of Attempted Rape in the First Degree, for the alleged attack on a 13 year old girl occurring on May 19 on Central Avenue in the Village of Fredonia.
Mr. Kimmy was arraigned Friday morning in Chautauqua County Court in front of the Honorable Stephen W. Cass. Judge Cass set bail at $500,000 cash or $1 million dollars property bond.
Mr. Kimmy was then remanded to the Chautauqua County jail.
Mr. Foley was pleased to get it before the Grand Jury quickly, saying "by getting this into the Grand Jury fast, we were able to avoid having to put the victim on the stand at Preliminary Hearing."
*A Felony Indictment is an accusatory instrument and an individual remains innocent until proven guilty.
