TONAWANDA, NY - (WKBW/Release) - TRAVELER ADVISORY - The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) today announced that bridge maintenance will occur on Interstate 290 near NY Route 265, Military Road, in the town of Tonawanda, Erie County.
As a result, on Saturday, August 25th, Interstate 290 eastbound, between Interstate 190 and Exit 1, Elmwood Avenue, will be reduced to one lane beginning at 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
This work is weather-sensitive and may be delayed in the event of inclement weather.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
