BUFFALO, NY (WKBW/Release) - TRAVELER ADVISORY - The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has announced that bridge maintenance on NY Route 5 (Buffalo Skyway), in the city of Buffalo, Erie County, will take place on Saturday, August 25th. As a result, several travel restrictions will be in place. NY Route 5 eastbound (inbound), in the vicinity of Interstate 190, will be reduced to one lane beginning at 7:00 a.m. thru 5:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 25th.
In addition, the NY Route 5 ramp to Interstate 190 northbound, as well as the ramp to Pearl Street and Seneca Street, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. thru 5:00 p.m. A detour will be posted to direct traffic to continue on NY Route 5 to Church Street, where traffic may then access Interstate 190 northbound from Church Street.
This work is weather sensitive and may be delayed in the event of inclement weather.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
