BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - In celebration of being one-year cancer free, Marilou Owczarczak ran and completed Sunday's Buffalo Half Marathon.
The Lancaster native is a breast cancer survivor and not says she wants to be an inspiration to other people now that she beat the disease.
"Don't give up," said Owczarczak. "Always remember that you've got the blue sky to look up at, the green grass. Always keep your head up. If you can do this, and kick cancer's butt, then life is good."
Owczarczak proudly wore a shirt at the Marathon which read "It Came, We Fought, I Won."
