HAMBURG, NY ( WKBW ) Thousands flocked to the Hamburg Beach Saturday for the "Blast At The Beach" event.
The event kicked off at Noon as people took advantage of the incredible weather and hit the Lake Erie beach from the popular southtowns destination.
The parking lot and park area was turned into a mini midway, with vendors selling everything from kettle corn to fried dough.
An area outside the Fitness Center featured local entertainers. "Hamburg's Best Families" were also honored in a special presentation.
As night fell, the beach resembled something out of an old beach party movie as hundreds of people both young and old danced to music spun by a DJ.
Many homeowners along Route 5 near the Hamburg Beach opened their homes to friends, neighbors, and families.
The night was capped off by a fantastic fireworks display, shot from the parcel of land near the boat launch.
Thousands watched by land and by water, as several boats came by to see the spectacular light show from the water.
Hamburg Police and crews from Lakeshore and area fire companies were on hand to make sure the crowds and traffic were all safe.
