The big competition on Sunday at the final day of the 2010 National Buffalo Wing Festival was the wing eating contest. Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas beat top challenger Joey Chestnut and a field of other experienced competitive eaters to claim this year's crown.

"This is probably the biggest eating contest in the world other than the Nathan's hot dog eating contest. The number one eater in the world, Joey Chestnut, went up against Sonya Thomas -- a mismatch in size but not a mismatch in competitive eating talent and heart and Sonya Thomas beat Joey Chestnut," says festival organizer Drew Cerza, "She set a world record with 181 chicken wings."

Thomas ate all of those wings in 12 minutes. It's the fourth time she's won this competition.

Cerza says people from all 50 states and 36 countries attended this year's wing festival in downtown Buffalo.
