WNY (WKBW) - Former president Bill Clinton throwing his heavy influence behind two local congress members up for re-election, Kathy Hochul and Louise Slaughter. Clinton really got the crowd fired up.

He explained to the audience that he knows what is good for the economy and how to balance the budget as demonstrated by his administration's strategy that helped Americans work their way from poverty to the middle class, and that President Barack Obama shares this strategy.

He says democrats must defeat the republican super packs including one headed up by president George W. Bush's former chief of staff

"The real opponent of Kathy Hochul, the real opponent of Louise Slaughter is Karl Rove. We ought to write his name in instead of the republicans. Now you remember what a great economy they gave you," said Clinton.

Back in western New York Hochul's republican congressional challenger Chris Collins is urging voters to pick him to help defeat 'Obama Care' which he claims will kill jobs.

He used Buffalo Filter, a Lancaster medical device company as an example.

"As the owner shared with me today it would cost them $1 million a year in extra tax because of Obama Care where that money could have gone to growing this business creating more jobs right here in the congressional district," said Collins.

Collins is also calling on Hochul to stop running an ad that claims Collins fired 115 people when he took over Buffalo China, a dinnerware manufacturing company.

He says it's false and that he kept more than 200 people employed.
