NIAGARA COUNTY, NY (WKBW) -- Officials say seventeen people total were arrested in a drug ring that was supplying drugs to several cities across Western New York. It was Tuesday morning that the raids began, including at one house on Chestnut Street. Neighbors were woken up by the loud noise. "I heard 'get on the floor, get on the floor' and then someone trying to break the door down," one neighbor said.

That house is where 31 year old Eric Williams lives and was arrested for allegedly helping with a drug ring in Niagara County, along with 29 year old Damien Ard who was also arrested among the other 15 people involved.

Officials have been investigating the ring for about a year and found it started in Texas. People were trafficking drugs all the way into the Buffalo area, then from there into several cities including North Tonawanda and Lockport. "We take this very seriously and this was a big raid for Lockport and Western New York," Lockport Mayor Mike Tucker said. "Took a lot of junk off the street."

It was a ring that handled drugs like heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, and prescription drugs. Sources say two other people are being looked for as part of this ring. The seventeen already arrested were arraigned Tuesday and are scheduled to be back in federal court Thursday morning. They face possible jail time and big fines if convicted.

The agencies involved in this drug bust were the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Niagara County Sheriff's Department and County Drug Task Force, Lockport Police, and the US Department of Justice.
